Röportaj: Bulgaristan

Onikipuan.com, Hadise’nin rakipleriyle olan röportajlarına tüm hızıyla sürüyor. Sırada Bulgaristan’ı Illusion  adlı şarkıyla temsil eden Krassimir Avramov var. İşte Harun Barlas Gürsoy’un soruları ve Avramov’un cevapları:

Bize kendinizden ve müzik hayatınızdan bahseder misiniz?

Bulgaristan’ın Sliven adlı küçük bir şehrinde doğdum. 1998 yılında Los
Angeles, Amerika’ya yerleştim. Aslında kariyerim sessizce başladı. İlk
aşkım pandomimdi, muhtemelen bilirsiniz ben profesyonel bir pandomim
oyuncusuyum. Tiyatro ve Film Sanatları & Pandomim Ulusal
Akademisi’nden mezun oldum. Müziği biraz geç keşfettim ve gerçekten
şunu söyleyebilirim ki pandomim benim kanımda var, müzik ise kalbimde.
1998 yılında Bulgaristan’dan ayrıldığımda zirvedeydim, popülerdim ve
Bulgaristan’da bir çok konser vermiştim, fanlar ve gerçek bir star
hayatı. Ama bu benim için yeterli değildi. Dünya çapında şarkılarımı
söylemek benim hayalimdi, müziğimi daha geniş kitlelere yaymak
istiyordum. Ama gerçekler ise tamamen farklıydı. Başarımın Amerika’da
da beni takip etmesini bekliyordum, ama oraya gittiğimde Hollwwood’un
büyük dünyasında kendimi bir hiç gibi buldum. Gerçekten çok zor bir
başlangıçtı, özellikle de Bulgaristan’daki benliğimden sonra. Yaşamak
için garsonluk, pizzacılık dahil her şeyi yaptım. Beni o anlarda tutan
şey ise Tanrı’ya olan inancım ve müziğe olan sevgimdi. Ve bildiğiniz
gibi Tanrı riske katlananlara yardım eder, ilk zamanlar yaşadığım bu
zorluklardan sonra yavaşta şansım yaver gitmeye başladı. 2005 yılında
Popera albümünü kaydetim. L.A. Müzik Ödüleri’nin prestijli bir ödülü
olan “Yılın Süperstarı” ödülünü kazandım. Hollywood’da Oscar’ın evi
olan Kodak Tiyatrosu’nda konser verdim, ilk singleım “Say Goodbye”ı
yayınladım. O zamanlara öndüğümde yaptığım tercihlerden dolayı kendimi
mutlu hissediyorum.

Türkiye hakkında ne düşünüyorsunuz? Hiç Türkiye’de bulundunuz mu?
Hatırladığınız Türk Eurovision Şarkıları var mı?

Türkiye’de hiç bulunmadım, Nisan ayında planladığımız promo turu
ülkenize olan ilk ziyaretim olacak. Bundan sonra size ne düşündüğümü
söyleme imkanım olabilir.  Ama şimdilik deneyimlerimden faydalanarak
şunu söyleyebilirim ki neşe saçan, çok sıcak insanlarsınız,
Amerika’daki konselerimde her zaman Türkler tarafından inanılmaz
derecede destek gördüm. Bir başka güzel anım da şu, 2008 Aralık ayında
bir Türk şirketi “The Best Pop-Opera 2009, Volume 2” adlı bir album
yayınladı ve benim şarkım “Memories” de o albümde yer aldı, Jose
Carreras ve Mario Frangoulis gibi virtüözlerle birlikte. Benim için
büyük bir onurdu.
Türk Eurovision şarkıları hakkında büyük bir zevkle, 2003 yılında
Eurovision’u kazanan Sertab Erener’in Everyway That I Can şarkısını
hatırlıyorum. İnanılmaz bir seçimdi ve yıllar sonra şunu itiraf
edebilirim ki hala şarkısını çok seviyorum. : )

Hadise ve Eurovision şarkımız Düm Tek Tek hakkında ne düşünüyorsunuz?

Hadise’nin muhteşem bir seçim olduğunu söyleyebilirim. Bence, Hadise
çok güzel ve doğal yeteneği ve enerjisiyle bunu gösteriyor. Hadise’yi
yeni Shakira olarak gördüğümü söylemek isterim. Şarkınıza bol şans
diliyorum. Bence Moskova’da yarışacak bütün şarkılar zaten birer
şampiyon.  Mesajımızı vermek ve insanların kalplerine ulaşmak
düşüncesiyle müzik yapıyoruz. Ve bence şarkınızdaki ritim ve tutku,
ülkenizden aldığım etkiyle uyuşuyor ve gerçekten sizlere bol şans
diliyorum.
Şarkınız “Illusion”a ne kadar güveniyorsunuz?

Illusion, Pop-Opera tarzında, bildiğiniz gibi yarışmanın tipik
şarkılarına göre biraz değişik ve yeni. Gerçekten Pop-Opera tarzında
müziğe başladığımdan beri bu uyuşmazlıkla başa çıkmaya çalışıyorum.
Biliyorum ki sevdiğim ve inandığım bir şey yapıyorum. Bulgaristan’da
elemelerden sonra olanlar hiç önemli değil. Şarkı kısa zamanda büyük
bir hit oldu, ve sonra radyolarda, karaoke barlarda, televizyonda,
gece kulüplerinde… Illusion bir çok hayrana sahip. Ve inanıyorum ki
Avrupa’da da bu gerçekleşecek. Avrupa yeni ve değişik bir şeyi kabul
etmeye hazır bana göre. Diskolara daha fazla opera getirmek ya da
operaya daha fazla disko tarzını getirebilmek, müziğin hala zengin ve
mücadeleci olduğunu gösteriyor. Ve işte Türk fanlardan istediğim şey,
kendi ülkenize oy veremediğinize göre, kimler Illussion’a oylarını
vermek üzere benimle birlikte? 11. sırada yarışıyorum ve gerçekten
desteğinize ihtiyacım var. Teşekkür ederim.
Bulgaristan’ın Eurovision tarihinden sevdiğiniz şarkılar var mı?

Bildiğiniz üzere Bulgaristan’ın bugüne kadar Eurovision’a az sayıda
bir katılımı var. Ama bu kısa zamanda da  bir başarımız var. Elitza ve
Stojan ve şarkıları Voda’yla Bulgaristan üst sıralarda yer aldığında
gerçekten çok sevinmiştim ve gurur duymuştum.

Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması’na katılımınızın hikayesi nedir?

Büyük bir heyecandı.Çünkü siz ve şarkınız diğer iyi şarkıların
arasından bütün Avrupa’nın önünde ülkenizi temsil etmek üzere
seçiliyorsunuz. Büyük bir sorumluluk ve aynı zamanda sizi
gururlandıran bir olay.

Bu seneki şarkıları dinlediniz mi? Dinlediyseniz kimi en büyük
rakibiniz olarak görüyorsunuz?

Rakiplerim hakkında bir şey söyleyemem. Oraya şarkı söylemek için
gidiyoruz. Savaşmak için değil. Bir favoriden söz etmem cidden çok
zor. Çünkü her şarkı özel, her ülke başka bir etki bırakıyor. Çoğunu
seviyorum. Ve tabi ki hepsine bol şans diliyorum.

Bu sene jürinin oyları final oylamasını %50 oranında etkileyecek. Bu
yeni sistem hakkında görüşleriniz nelerdir?

Zaten söylemiştim, bir daha söylüyorum. Harika bir düşünce. Jüriler
profesyonel müzik adamlarından oluşacak ve şarkıları daha dikkatlice
dinleyecekler, insanlar da dinleyecek ama aynı zamanda showu da
izleyecekler. Bence bu ikisi arasındaki denge, gayretimizi ölçmek için
harika bir yol.

Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması’nı takip eder miydiniz? Yarışma tarihinden
favoriniz olan bir şarkı var mı?

Benim için Eurovision her renkten insanı birleştiren ve müzik ve
umutla insanların kalbine dokunan büyük bir müzik organizasyonu.
Yarışmayla ilgilenmeye 10 sene önce başladım. Bu süre içinde yarışmayı
takip etmeye ve yarışma formatında yapıla müziği anlamaya çalıştım.
Bulgaristan bir kaç yıl önce büyük bir başarı elde edince gerçekten
çok sevinmiştim.

Yarışmadaki performansınız sırasında bir show yapmayı planlıyor
musunuz? Eğer planlıyorsanız bize bundan biraz bahseder misiniz?

Evet, şuanda özellikle de yarı final için yeni bir kareografi üzerinde
çalışıyoruz. Gerçekten inanıyorum ki bu yeni kareografi Avrupalı
seyirci için daha tahrik edici ve ilginç olacak. Detayları gizli
tutuyorum ama şunu söyleyebilirim ki dünya çapında tanınan Stilt World
dansçıları showun bir parçası olacaklar.

First of all, I would like to thank you for accepting my interview request.
Can you tell us about yourself and your music life?

I was born in a small town of Sliven in Bulgaria. I moved to Los
Angelis , USA  in 1998 , and since then I live there. Actually my
carrier started “in silent”. My first love was pantomime, probably as
you know I am a professional mime, I graduated from the National
Academy for Theatrical and Film Arts with major Pantomime. I
discovered the music little lately and I can truly say that the
pantomime is in my blood and the music in my heart. On 1998 when I
left Bulgaria I was on the top of the wave, very popular, with many
concerts in Bulgaria, fans and a real life of a star. But it was not
enough for me. I have always dreamed to sing for the world, to bring
my music to bigger audience.  But the reality was completely
different. I was expecting my success to follow me in USA, but when I
arrive there  I found myself nobody , in the big world of Hollywood.
So it was very difficult beginning , especially with the ego that I
have from Bulgaria. I was working as a waiter, as a pizza man,
whatever, just to survive. What kept me in these moments was my strong
believe in God and my love into my music. And as you know God helps to
the people who dare to risk and soon after this very hard first
months, slowly the chances start to arise. In 2005 I recorded the
album Popera , for which I was granted with the prestigious award
“Superstar of the Year”  from L.A. Music Awards, I made my concert at
Hollywood’s home of the Oscars, the prestigious Kodak Theatre, I have
release my single “Say Goodbye” . So when I return back to these times
I am really happy for the choices that I have made.

What do you think about Turkey ? Have you ever been in Turkey ? Are
there any Turkish Eurovision songs that you remember?

I have never been to Turkey , on the promo tour which I am  planning
in April will be my first visit to your country.  So then I will be
able tell youJ, but for now I can say that from my experience with the
Turkish audience , you are very radiant, very warm people and I was
always greatly supported by Turkish people on my concerts in USA.
Other good feeling that I keep from you is  that in December 2008,the
Turkish company Artis Music recorded the album”The Best Pop-Opera
2009, Volume 2″ where my song “Memories” is selected for the pilot
single alongside with name of the pop opera virtuosos like Jose
Carreras and Mario Frangoulis, which is a great honor for me.

About the Turkish songs from Eurovision with great pleasure I remember
Sertab Erener with “Everywhere that I can”  the winner of ESC in 2003.
It was great choice and after so many years I can admit that I still
like very much her song.
What do you think about “Hadise” and our song for Eurovision “Düm Tek Tek”.

I can say that Hadise is perfect choice that you have made. I think
she is very beautiful and with the talent and energy she shows, I will
dare to say that I see in her, one new Shakira. I wish good luck to
your song. I think that all the songs that are going to Moscow are
already winners. Because in the music’s world competition is hard to
define.  We all create music with the idea to give our message and to
reach the hearts of the people. And I think the rhythm and passion in
your song corresponds to the impression I have from your nation and I
really wish good look to you.
How confident are you about your song “Illusion”?

“Illusion” is a Popera style as you know,, it’s something new and
different from the typical songs on the contest. And actually I am
always dealing with this controversy since I started with Popera
style. But I know that I am doing something I love and something in
what I believe. No matter what happen in Bulgaria after my selection,
the song become for a very short time a big hit and lately is
everywhere on the radio, tv, night clubs, karaoke bars.. “Illusion”
has many fans in a matter of fact.  And   I believe this could happen
in Europe as well. I think Europe is ready to accept something new and
different. Bringing more opera to the disco or more disco to the opera
it still remains music and even more rich and challenging.  And here
is a place to ask from my Turkish fans , who are with me to give their
votes for “Illusion”, as you will not be able to vote for Turkish song
. I will be under number 11 and I really need your support.  Thank
you.
Are there any songs that you like from Bulgaria ‘s Eurovision history?

As you know Bulgaria has a short list of participation at ESC until
now. But for asuch a short time we already have a success. I was I
really very happy and proud when Bulgaria reached such a high place
few years ago with Elitza and Stojan, and the song “Voda”..
What is the story of being a participant in the Eurovision Song Contest?

It is a big emotion.  Because you and your song are chosen among many
other great ones to present your country in front of Europe. It’s a
big responsibility  and on the same time something that makes you
really proud.
Have you listened the songs for this year. If you have, who do you
consider as your biggest rival?

I can not speak about rivals. We are all there to sing, not to fight.
It’s really difficult to mention a favorite one , because every song
is specific, every country gives a different influence and sound and I
really like most of them. And I wish of course a good luck to all of
them.
This year jurys’ votes as well will be determinant up to 50%. What is
your opinion about this new system?

I will say what I already said. I think it is a brilliant idea! The
juries, comprising music professionals, will listen to the songs more
carefully and the people will listen but watch the show as well. So, I
think, the balance between the two of them will be the perfect way to
evaluate our efforts.
Did you use to follow Eurovision Song Contest before? Do you have a
fovourite song from the history of the contest?

For me Eurovision is a great musical forum with the idea to unite
people of all colours and races and to touch the hearts with music and
hope. I started to be interested in the contest itself ten years ago.
During this period I was listening and trying to study the contest and
the format of music it is doing. I was really very happy and proud
when Bulgaria reached such a high place few years ago.
Are you planning of any kind of show during your performance in the
contest? If you are planning, could you tell us a little about it?

Yes, right now we are working  on the  new choreography especially for
the for Semi Final. I really believe the new one will be much
provocative and interesting for the european audience. I will keep the
details in secret, but I will tell you that again the great dancers
from the world known troupe Stilt World will be part of the show. : )
