TURKEY WILL MAKE A COME-BACK TO EUROVISION
Şenol Göka, who was appointed as TRT Director General in 2014, has stated in one of his tweets that Turkey will be back to the Eurovision Song Contest. He tweeted “hopefully next year, if all goes well” in response to a tweet asking him about Eurovision.
Turkey’s last Eurovision entry was Love Me Back by Can Bonomo which achieved the seventh place in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012. In the following years, TRT announced that Turkey will not participate in the contest. Since the appointment of Şenol Göka as the TRT Director General, there have been rumours that Turkey can make a come-back to the contest.
